Do you want a more defined jawline or struggle with a double chin? Does it seem like no amount of diet or exercise gets rid of the problem? Then Kybella® could be a great option for you.
Kybella® is an FDA-approved injectable that removes excess fat by permanently destroying fat cells. This allows us to get rid of fullness under your chin, eliminating a problematic double chin. Kybella® is a great alternative to liposuction or a neck lift if you’re not ready for a surgical procedure or simply don’t have the time.
Kybella® is a fat dissolving injectable that removes what is technically called submental fullness, more commonly known as a double chin. It works by introducing a naturally-occurring acid (deoxycholic acid that destroys fat cells. The nice thing is, once that fat is gone, it can’t come back again. In the past, patients have been forced to opt for more invasive procedures, like liposuction or a neck lift, so this treatment is a big step forward. It is done right in our office on Newbury Street in Boston, and there is no downtime.
Kybella® treatment is performed in stages to achieve the best results. Each stage is spaced about two months apart, and you may start to see the results in a few weeks. Some people will see great results in two sessions, but others may need up to four to six treatments. All of this will be discussed in detail with a member of the Team at the DeRosa Clinic.
1)How well does Kybella® Work?
The injections are incredibly effective, and the before and after results are remarkable. The most exciting thing about Kybella® is that it gets results that rival liposuction without the need for surgery. And the best thing is that the results from Kybella® are permanent.
2) What is Kybella®?
Kybella® is deoxycholic acid—a naturally occurring acid that destroys the fat cells. The nice thing is, once that fat is gone, it can’t plump back up again. In the past patients have been forced to opt for more invasive procedures like liposuction or a neck lift, so this new treatment is a big step forward. It is done right in the DeRosa Clinic on Newbury Street in Boston, and there is no downtime.
3) Are there side effects with Kybella®?
There may be minor side effects. These typically include redness, bruising, numbness and swelling around the treatment area. For a more complete list, you can look at the Kybella® website. Before your treatment, you can also do things to reduce the side effects, such as taking an antihistamine and ibuprofen. Please ask the Team at the DeRosa Clinic for pre-treatment instructions.
