LED Light Therapy Boston Newbury Street

NASA-developed and FDA-approved, this red light prompts the skin's fibroblasts to produce collagen and elastin proteins deep within the dermis. LED Light Therapy is great for people with acneic skin, with acne lesions, and is also wonderful to use to prevent scarring post surgery. It’s safe enough to be done on a daily basis, but we recommend it in combination with other treatments every four to six weeks. LED Light Therapy can be performed as a stand-alone treatment or an add on to a facial or chemical peel. You can discuss your skin care concerns and goals with a member of our team to determine the best treatment for you.

LED light therapy is also great for calming the skin and helping to reduce mild inflammation and is safe to use after surgery. Scientists started experimenting with light wavelengths because we know that all cells respond to light. And they really wanted to put skin into healing. LED Light Therapy uses a handheld wand that is applied to the skin using a light conducting gel to help penetrate the light deep into the skin. The application feels cooling and soothing, especially when used after an exfoliation treatment. This device is based on the research that all skin cells respond to light, triggering the body to convert light into cell energy. Using a combination of light wavelengths, NASA research shows that skin cells speed up 100-200 times faster under the light, increasing new tissue growth and stimulating collagen and elastin proteins. This treatments reduces fine lines and wrinkles, speeds up the skin’s own healing time, reduces overall redness and flushing.
