Mini facelift Mini Neck Lift Boston Newbury Street

The mini facelift is perfect for the person who is looking to freshen-up the lower face and upper neck without drastic changes; it’s also a great option for those who may need a bit more but don’t have the time or desire for a more drastic surgery.  The mini facelift is a great option for those who have started to notice the effects of aging, such as the start of jowls, neck looseness, plastymal banding and skin laxity.  Our mini facelift patients start as young as early 40s and there is no real age ‘limit’ for this procedure.  The mini lift is also a great option for those who have undergone prior a facelift and/or neck lift and now just need a touch-up.

Similar to the facelift, this procedure also addresses the jawline and neck laxity in a less invasive manner. Patients will often find shorter “downtime” as compared to a traditional facelift and may notice a less drastic change.  Many of our patients will come back after surgery and tell us that their friends and family didn’t know what was different but told them that they look great.

For those who are not ready to take the dive into a full facelift but have more aging changes, a mini facelift is a great option, as you’ll still get improvements without the added risks and downtime.  The mini lift will tighten-up the lower part of the face and remove some of the redundant skin without causing a drastic change in the way a person looks.

Our doctors hear from many of their patients that they don’t want to look like a different person, they just want to look refreshed, or that they want to look like they took a great vacation. If this sounds like something you can relate to, a mini facelift could be a great option for you. Generally speaking, good candidates for mini lifts are men and women in their mid to late 40s, 50s, and sometimes even into their 60s or 70s.  The exact age that’s “right” for a mini lift varies depending on a bunch of factors, including the amount of facial aging a person has, smoking, sun damage, skin thickness, facial fat, facial bone structure, and the degree of change a person wants from the surgery.

As with a full facelift or neck lift, a mini facelift may be done in conjunction with liposuction for the neck. This is great for people who have excess fat under the chin. During the mini facelift and necklift, liposuction can remove this fat and then the extra skin from the lower part of the face is removed, correcting the laxity of the upper neck and lower face.

During your consultation with one of the DeRosa Clinic double board certified facial plastic surgeons, she will listen to your facial concerns and goals.  Next, she will perform a detailed history and physical examination and discuss their impression and recommendations with you. During this consultation (or anytime thereafter) you should be sure to ask any unanswered questions and voice any concerns you may have.  It is important to us that you always feel comfortable with your treatment plan and have a good understanding of the goals and objectives prior to undergoing any treatment or procedure. It is important for you to be candid about any other medical conditions or history that may impact an optimal result.

DeRosa Clinic recently announced that it is an AAAASF Accredited Surgery Center and the only one of its kind in Boston.  Surgeries are performed at our Newbury Street location in the Back Bay under a “twilight sleep”, otherwise known as IV sedation. You can have your surgery performed in our comfortable, private clinic where you can safely have your procedure done and head home comfortably and discreetly.  These IV Sedation surgeries are performed by one of the DeRosa Clinic facial plastic surgeons along with a board-certified Physician Anesthesiologist.
